Platform: Unity (Editor Tool)
Role: Developer
Audience: Level Designers
About:
A custom Unity editor tool to streamline FTUE (First Time User Experience) design for a merge mechanic game. Replaced manual replaying and step-tracking with a visual interface to create, review, and test tutorial steps from any point in the flow.
Goal:
Designers can build and iterate on dynamic tutorial flows independently — no dev changes needed per iteration. Speed up tutorial design and enable smooth, well-paced onboarding — fully dynamic.
Results:
· Significantly recovered user drop-off caused by a poor onboarding experience.
· Faster tutorial iteration with no dev dependency.
Challenges:
Technical
· Built a code-free editor interface usable by non-developer designers.
· Supported jump-to-any-step testing for faster iteration.
Collaborative
· Wrote documentation and onboarded the designer onto the tool.Skills: Unity Editor scripting · FTUE design · UX for non-developers · Technical documentation
